Media Content Delivery

A major content developer in the Middle East region wanted to deploy their application on a scalable and extensible platform to serve customers in 12 different countries in the Middle East and Africa. On go - live, the expectation was that there would be more than 10 million object requests per hour at peak times - when a campaign was released, for example. This called for infrastructure that could be scaled properly, so that during peak times, the users should not face capacity starvation, and at lean hours, should scale down to minimize costs.

Technologies used: AWS, EC2, EBS, ELB, S3, CloudFront, CloudWatch, CodeDeploy, RDS

The infrastructure was designed and deployed in record time. Extensive distributed load testing ensured that there were zero errors (especially 5XX errors).

The graph below shows the challenges of hosting traffic intensive websites, especially because of the latency. This graph only maps a promotion that ran in a single african country and the subsequent spurt in access traffic to the deployed site.

Data Center Disaster Recovery for a large conglomerate

A major retail chain and a holding company for many other businesses wanted to make sure that they have an secure, efficient and foolproof DR solution on the cloud. Security was of paramount important, as also the ability to fire up workloads on the cloud, should there be a disaster on the on-premise datacenter.

Technologies used: AWS, Storage Gateway (Cached), S3, CloudWatch, Vmware, Veeam, Symantec BackupExec

The project is ongoing and so far around 10 TB of VM and data backup has been moved on the AWS Storage Gateway. In place VM images can be attached to an EC2 instance as an AMI and the VM started up as and when necessary.

Content Delivery, Site Optimzation, and Latency Improvement Services for English Language Daily in the UAE

One of the most prominent English language daily newspapers in the UAE wanted to improve access times and uptime for their various e-assets. Integra was commisioned to develop AWS based solutions for the group. Work is ongoing and is expected to cover more than 7 different business segments. Ultimately, the goal is to move the entire infrastructure to Amazon Web Services.

Event web portal and Content Delivery for UAE Government Institution

An UAE government organzation held a global conference for the association of global governmental organisations in the UAE. In view of the heavy web traffic expected, Integra was commissioned to develop a highly available, auto scalable web infrastructure to handle the event portal. Anticipating hits in the range of hundreds of requests per second, we designed and built an infrastructure at short notice to handle the heaviest burst of traffic. The best part: no 5XXs even under very heavy loads, and the lowest cost for infrastructure. Mobile apps, traditional web applications and static assets were delivered to the end users seamlessly.
