Integra Technologies has a good number of GNU/Linux based enterprise servers and applications deployed in the United Arab Emirates and the wider Middle East. We are growing and have more deployments in the pipeline and are looking out for people with GNU/Linux expertise.

We are looking for guys who are interested in Linux, who have chosen Linux to be on their career path because of sheer passion. Certification is a plus, but will not count in any manner to the selection process. (ie. if you are excellent and you are certified - excellent; if you are excellent, but not certified - excellent).

Why do we not give weightage to certification ? Because we feel that most certified people out there have just followed the course curriculum and got certified. More slogging and less thinking....

We are looking for people who can think of solutions to complex requirements in an instant. Well, maybe not in an instant, but you get the idea. We are looking for people who read a lot, and reading things other than techie magazines gives you a little plus. As does reading Joel on Software.

Technically:

• You must be familiar with administering large enterprise accounts, be aware of the constraints and issues involving enterprise IT systems.
• You must have very good knowledge of GNU/Linux System Administration.
• You must be familiar with the linux kernel, filesystems, GNU tools, and must have a habit of reading man pages.
• You must be able to write code, mostly scripting, and be able to decipher code in most languages (C/C++/PHP/Perl/Shell).
• Must have a knowledge of security issues concerning enterprise deployments, and be familiar with Linux firewalls.
• Must be familiar with Email standards, DNS, Proxies,
• Knowledge about Linux Clusters is a plus.
• Must be fanatical about client support and server uptimes.

Generally:

You should be presentable, should be a person who can learn on the fly and can converse well in the English language.
